Once the grapes are placed into the hopper, the auger feeds them towards the crushing rollers. The auger paddles push the grapes into the rollers, where the first operation takes place: crushing. Beneath the hopper, the second operation occurs: separation of the crushed grapes and must from the stems, which are discharged on the side opposite the motor through the rotation of the paddle shaft. The crushed grapes together with the resulting must fall by gravity through the 22 mm holes of the stainless steel cylinder positioned under the hopper, directly into the tank or barrel supporting the machine.
